The University of Oklahoma String Area features a world-renowned faculty of outstanding artist–teachers. Our string faculty performs and teaches all over the world, records actively and is committed to providing the highest quality instruction available anywhere. OU students have ample performance opportunities in a variety of ensembles as well as in the highly acclaimed OU Symphony Orchestra.  Private instruction and performance master classes are also mainstays of the academic program. OU’s tradition of excellence attracts outstanding students from throughout the country and internationally. Graduates of the program regularly fill highly prestigious performance and academic posts and are highly sought to present concerts, workshops and master classes at conferences throughout the United States.
